Senior Back-End Engineer (Java)

What you will do

• Analyze business and technical requirements, propose improvements, and drive backend development initiatives.
• Own technical architecture and solution design with emphasis on scalability, maintainability, and performance.
• Design backend services and system integrations using strong architectural and engineering judgment.
• Write maintainable Java code and ensure unit and integration test coverage.
• Conduct code reviews, share best practices, and mentor other engineers.
• Identify technical risks, bottlenecks, and performance optimization opportunities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial backend software development experience.
• Strong Java expertise and deep understanding of the Java EE ecosystem.
• Experience designing scalable, maintainable, and high-performance backend architectures.
• Strong knowledge of OOP principles, design patterns, and software engineering best practices.
• Hands-on experience with Spring, Hibernate/JPA, RESTful APIs, microservices, Git, Jenkins, Maven or Gradle, and application servers such as Tomcat or WebSphere.
• Ability to take ownership, communicate effectively, collaborate cross-functionally, perform code reviews, and mentor engineers.
