What you will do

• Design, build, and scale REST APIs and large-scale data processing pipelines for high-volume datasets across distributed systems.
• Architect and optimize backend services to ensure high throughput and low-latency performance.
• Develop data-intensive and event-driven applications using Python, TypeScript, Spark, and AWS-native services.
• Utilize Spark, EMR, Glue, and Kafka to process and transform massive datasets.
• Improve system reliability and scalability across microservices and Kubernetes-based cloud infrastructure.
• Mentor developers, guide code reviews, and automate CI/CD using Terraform and Serverless Framework.

Requirements

• 7+ years of backend engineering experience with a strong focus on Python.
• 3+ years of professional experience working with TypeScript and Node.js.
• Advanced expertise with AWS services including EC2, EKS, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, and RDS.
• Proven experience deploying and optimizing production workloads on Kubernetes.
• Hands-on experience with distributed computing and batch/stream processing (Spark, Dask, EMR, Glue, or Kafka).
• Must be based in Canada.
