What you will do

• Design, build, and operate secure, reliable, and scalable backend services in a cloud-native environment.
• Own the full feature lifecycle from requirements and design to implementation, testing, and production rollout.
• Develop distributed systems and microservices with a focus on resiliency and clear API contracts.
• Ensure service reliability through monitoring, alerting, and active participation in on-call rotations.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to ship end-to-end features across the Confluent platform.
• Improve engineering practices, automation tools, and code quality through rigorous code reviews.

Requirements

• Must be based in Canada and authorized to work without sponsorship.
• Professional experience designing and supporting production-grade backend systems.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Go, C/C++, or Python.
• Experience with distributed systems, microservices, data pipelines, or event-driven architectures.
• Hands-on experience with public clouds (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of relational databases, NoSQL stores, and distributed data systems.
