Associate Field Engineer (Safety Certification)

What you will do

• Perform safety and non-safety certification inspections and audits of quality systems.
• Analyze and evaluate examination and test results against UL requirements.
• Verify accuracy of manufacturers’ measuring equipment and review production and inspection records.
• Communicate with manufacturers, customers, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction to conduct inspections.
• Use technical instruments such as micrometers, voltmeters, and ammeters to perform evaluations.
• Document examination variations and test results in appropriate UL forms.

Requirements

• University Degree or Equivalent Technical Certification in Engineering, Physics, or Industrial/Manufacturing Technology.
• Must be located or willing to relocate to the Northbrook/Northeast Chicagoland area.
• Strong mechanical and technical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams.
• Ability to travel locally and regionally for daily client visits.
• Ability to work at heights.
• Strong written and verbal communication and client-interfacing skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in Field Engineering, Compliance, or Quality Engineering.
• ASQ certification.
• Experience with UL Standards 508A (Industrial Control Panels).
• General electronics background and Lightning Protection experience.
