TL;DR

Motorsports CFD Surface Design Engineer (Automotive/CAD): Developing and automating complex CAD assemblies for high-fidelity aerodynamic simulations with an accent on parametric design and simulation-ready geometry. Focus on reducing model preparation time and improving the accuracy of CFD studies to increase vehicle performance in racing.

Location: Hybrid: Must report to Concord, NC at least three times per week

What you will do

• Develop simulation-ready CAD geometry and high-quality surface models for CFD workflows.
• Manage CAD assemblies with strict structure and version control to ensure efficient simulation use.
• Implement parametric design and automation to enable rapid updates and repeatable workflows.
• Reconstruct legacy and scanned geometry to meet internal CFD and aerodynamic standards.
• Resolve geometry issues that negatively impact mesh quality, solver stability, or convergence.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate design intent into high-fidelity models.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in CAD surfacing or aerodynamic development.
• Advanced proficiency in Siemens NX, CATIA, or equivalent software.
• Experience with CFD or simulation-driven development workflows.
• Ability to produce fully watertight, simulation-ready geometry.

Nice to have

• Master’s Degree in Engineering or Physics.
• Experience building automation into CAD assemblies to streamline simulation workflows.
• Familiarity with surface interrogation tools such as zebra stripes and curvature combs.
• Passion for motorsports and understanding of vehicle performance engineering.
