TL;DR

Enterprise Workday Administrator (Workday): Own Workday tenant configuration, business processes, and system settings while partnering with an implementation vendor and internal HR, Finance, and IS stakeholders to ensure a smooth launch and ongoing operational excellence. Focus on tier-3 troubleshooting and escalation, leading Workday change control and adoption, and managing integrations, reporting, security roles, and release upgrades at scale.

Location: Remote within the state of Wisconsin (Madison, WI, USA)

Salary: $116,000 annually

What you will do

  • Manage Workday tenant configuration, business processes, and system settings; lead updates, releases, and enhancements.
  • Evaluate and implement new Workday features; maintain documentation, configuration guides, and training materials.
  • Act as the technical escalation point for complex Workday issues; manage ticket queues and resolve challenging problems.
  • Train and enable Tier 1 & Tier 2 support teams; improve support effectiveness through enablement.
  • Lead Workday change control with HR, Finance, and IS stakeholders; communicate updates, secure approvals, and implement changes.
  • Manage vendor relationships and third-party support to optimize system performance, integrations, reporting, and security.

Requirements

  • Work authorization: Legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis; no visa sponsorship.
  • 7+ years of hands-on Workday administration, including tenant management, business processes, security roles/access control, integrations (EIB, Core Connect, APIs, Workday Studio), reporting, and release management.
  • Proficiency in tier-3 support, troubleshooting, report building, and system documentation.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, enterprise integrations, Microsoft Office 365, and reporting/analytics tools (e.g., Prism, calculated fields, dashboards).
  • Willingness to pursue Workday certifications and stay current on best practices.

Nice to have

  • Experience with enterprise integrations and identity/access management; familiarity with IT security best practices.
  • Workday certifications (HCM, Finance, Security) and/or additional IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+).
  • Experience with application administration, leading committees, and supporting system implementations.
