TL;DR
Head of Legal Operations (AI): Designing and scaling the legal function's operating system through AI-assisted workflows, CLM implementation, and automation with an accent on reducing cycle times and operational efficiency. Focus on building agentic AI workflows, managing legal-tech stacks, and optimizing cross-functional handoffs between Legal, Sales, and Finance.
Location: Hybrid (San Francisco or New York)
Salary: $225K – $275K + Equity

What you will do
- Own the contract lifecycle management (CLM) process, including intake, routing, templates, and reporting in coordination with RevOps and Sales Ops.
- Design and optimize legal intake and triage workflows, moving toward agentic, AI-assisted pipelines.
- Lead legal-technology and AI strategy, prioritizing the creation of custom AI workflows (e.g., Claude Cowork) over off-the-shelf tools.
- Develop a data and reporting layer to track cycle times, deal volume, and overall program health.
- Manage outside counsel operations and the legal budget, ensuring cost-efficiency and scope control.
- Partner with the CLO to design the operating model for growth toward an IPO.
Requirements
- 7+ years in legal operations at a high-growth technology company, including ownership of a legal-ops program.
- Deep hands-on experience with CLM systems and legal tooling selection and implementation.
- Proven track record of building workflows that measurably reduce cycle time or cost.
- Fluency in building and managing agentic AI workflows and mastering AI tooling.
- Strong cross-functional operator capable of driving adoption across Legal, Finance, and IT.
- Must be based in or able to work hybrid in San Francisco or New York.
Nice to have
- Experience at an AI, developer-infrastructure, or high-velocity SaaS company.
- Experience standing up a legal-ops function from an early stage.
- Outside-counsel management or legal spend program ownership.
- Involvement in the CLOC or similar legal-ops communities.
