What you will do
- Provide day-to-day product counseling for AI Governance, Data Clean Rooms, and Native Apps.
- Collaborate with PMs and engineers to analyze feature functionality, identify risks, and design compliance strategies.
- Manage AI Forward Deployed Engineering engagements and drive cross-functional alignment for commercial negotiations.
- Draft and maintain customer-facing legal terms for new product offerings and launches.
- Establish new best practices for product counseling by integrating AI tooling into legal workflows.
Requirements
- 3+ years of substantive post-bar legal practice in privacy, cybersecurity, tech transactions, AI/ML regulatory, or IP.
- Active California bar or active bar in another US jurisdiction with eligibility to register as in-house counsel in California.
- Ability to interpret technical architecture documents and engage in focused discussions with Engineering teams.
- Strong judgment under ambiguity and clear written communication skills for non-lawyer audiences.
- Experimental mindset toward AI tooling and a willingness to test emerging capabilities.
Nice to have
- Experience with custom enterprise deals and technology transactions.
- Active professional use of AI tools (e.g., Cortex, Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot).
- Exposure to AI/ML product law, including model licensing, data rights, and the AI Act.
- Technical or quantitative academic background prior to law school.
- Prior career experience in fields such as government, military, or tech IC roles.
Hiring process
