Senior Counsel: Litigation, Regulatory Advocacy & Policy (Legal): Managing complex litigation and regulatory disputes while driving public policy advocacy in partnership with Government Affairs with an accent on litigation strategy and legislative analysis. Focus on shaping pre-litigation strategies, navigating regulatory developments, and providing strategic legal guidance for an online marketplace.

Location: Hybrid: Must be based in the Greater Seattle Area or willing to relocate (minimum expectation to work from the Downtown Seattle Office two days per week on Mondays and Thursdays)

Salary: $182,290 - $242,446

What you will do

• Manage complex litigation, arbitration, and regulatory matters from inception through resolution, including pleadings, discovery, and motions practice.
• Propose and drive creative solutions to novel legal issues with material impact on the business.
• Monitor and analyze proposed legislation and regulations, forecasting impacts and drafting proposed amendments.
• Create persuasive engagement materials, including advocacy letters, talking points, and public comments for policymakers.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and thought partner on litigation and policy risks for internal stakeholders.
• Identify and lead opportunities to scale and improve internal legal processes.

Requirements

• At least 12 years of relevant litigation or regulatory legal practice.
• Must be based in the Greater Seattle Area or willing to relocate.
• Excellent legal writing and communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences without using "legalese".
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills for collaboration across sensitive topics.
• Strategic vision to understand the impact of evolving legal trends on the business and community.
• Exceptional organizational skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Experience advocating for online marketplaces, technology companies, or highly regulated industries.
• Proven track record of managing outside counsel relationships and budgets.
• Experience collaborating with government affairs or public policy functions.
