Legal Counsel (Commercial)

Location: Sunnyvale, California, United States; hybrid work from the office and home

Annual base salary: $150,000–$200,000 USD for the Sunnyvale office. Remote salary ranges, where applicable, are localized according to work location.

What you will do

• Advise on global procurement, supply chain, technology, vendor management, and US commercial matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate procurement, supplier, services, software/SaaS, data, licensing, consulting, and operational agreements.
• Support strategic transactions with OEM partners and Tier 1 suppliers across development, proofs of concept, integration, deployment, and production.
• Provide advice on product, marketing, intellectual property, data privacy, and corporate matters in collaboration with legal colleagues and external counsel.
• Partner with engineering, procurement, finance, privacy, communications, commercial, and operational stakeholders.
• Build scalable templates, playbooks, governance structures, and processes while managing external counsel and cross-border legal advice.

Requirements

• Licensed attorney admitted to practice in California.
• 3+ years of relevant legal experience, including at least 2 years in a law firm and some in-house experience.
• Strong experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial, procurement, supply chain, technology, and vendor agreements.
• Experience supporting strategic commercial transactions in technology-driven, fast-moving environments.
• Strong legal analysis, pragmatic communication, stakeholder management, commercial judgment, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple workstreams, and collaborate with senior business stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Commercial or product counseling experience in automotive, mobility, technology, autonomous vehicles, or AI.
• Experience with OEM partnerships, large-scale B2B transactions, hardware, software, data, or integrated technology solutions.
• Familiarity with procurement, supply chain, manufacturing, logistics, or operational contracting.
• Experience with data privacy, intellectual property, marketing legal issues, or cross-border commercial advice.
• Experience scaling legal processes, templates, or commercial legal functions.
