Focus on proactively engaging with policymakers, conducting risk analyses for product development, and advocating for sensible policy outcomes.

Location: Must be based in or willing to relocate to a hirify.global hub (San Francisco, CA; Denver, CO; Nashville, TN). Expected to work from the office 3+ days a week.

Salary: $229,000 - $269,000 USD

What you will do

• Monitor and analyze changing regulations, laws, and policies to provide actionable compliance guidance.
• Conduct risk analyses on emerging regulatory developments impacting products and operations.
• Lead proactive engagement with policymakers and government officials to advocate for sensible policy.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to develop regulatory requirements and lead customer-facing policy discussions.
• Manage the internal policy hub for regulatory updates and advocacy positions.
• Build relationships with external stakeholders, including trade associations and non-profit allies.

Requirements

• JD required with 8+ years of experience in regulatory law, policy, or government affairs.
• Proven experience engaging directly with policymakers and regulators at federal, state, or local levels.
• Track record of operating in complex, highly regulated environments like consumer reporting or financial services.
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex legal analysis into clear guidance for non-lawyer partners.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and a bias for action.
• Must be able to work from a hub location 3+ days a week.

Nice to have

• FCRA experience.
• Familiarity with AI policy and emerging AI regulation.
• Working knowledge of privacy laws such as CCPA, GDPR, or DPPA.
