What you will do

• Lead technical mechanical design for complex assemblies, defining milestones to meet quarterly goals.
• Accelerate project timelines by making informed technical tradeoffs in scope and execution.
• Translate business objectives into actionable technical solutions for the engineering team.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with electrical, firmware, and software engineers to create seamless hardware-software systems.
• Proactively identify and eliminate root causes of technical barriers to unblock the team.
• Mentor junior colleagues to help them improve their engineering craft.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant engineering field.
• Multiple years of professional experience executing a broad range of hardware development activities.
• Proven ability to solve ambiguous, under-defined, and open-ended design problems.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate requirements across different teams.
• Legal authorization to work in the US without sponsorship is mandatory.

Nice to have

• Experience leading projects through the complete product life-cycle from concept to shipping.
• Expertise in designing precision mechanisms, motion systems, or imaging system mounts.
• Background in scientific instrumentation or industrial automation and inspection.
• Proficiency in FEA, thermal simulations, or detailed tolerance analysis.
• A portfolio of mechanical designs and shipped physical products.
