What you will do

• Design mass-manufacturable parts and assemblies for power converters, including enclosures, heatsinks, and insulators.
• Own mechanical designs throughout the entire lifecycle, from initial concept to high-volume production.
• Optimize components using a first-principles approach, conducting structural and thermal analysis.
• Create detailed 3D designs and 2D drawings using CATIA V6/3DX.
• Perform hands-on prototyping and validation testing.
• Collaborate with electrical, manufacturing, and reliability engineering teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a similar field.
• 4+ years of full-time industry experience.
• Exceptional proficiency in 3D CAD software.
• Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and basic electronics.
• Experience with high-volume manufacturing processes (e.g., sheet metal, injection molding, diecasting).
• Ability to work on-site in Scotts Valley.

Nice to have

• Experience designing power electronics converters and components like PCBAs and fuses.
• Proficiency with FEA, CFD, or multi-physics modeling software (Ansys, MATLAB, Python, Simulink).
• Experience with GD&T and tolerance analysis.
• Knowledge of medium voltage (34.5kV) or grid-related products.
• Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and controlled release processes.
