What you will do

• Design and implement electrical solutions using CAD tools such as SolidWorks Electrical and AutoCAD Electrical.
• Build and iterate on prototypes for novel scientific instruments using agile methodologies.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and scientists to automate manual lab workflows.
• Develop and support process instrumentation, sensors, and field-level control devices.
• Maintain technical documentation, including wiring schematics, test plans, and I/O lists.
• Perform calibration, troubleshooting, and validation of electrical systems to ensure safety and performance.

Requirements

• 1–4 years of experience in electrical systems design or integration (internships included).
• Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks Electrical or AutoCAD Electrical).
• Knowledge of industrial electrical safety standards (UL508A, IEC 60204-1).
• Understanding of embedded controllers, PLCs, and HMIs.
• Hands-on experience with electrical test equipment like oscilloscopes and multimeters.
• Must be based in or able to work onsite in Cambridge, MA, USA.

Nice to have

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in a scientific, R&D, or life science environment.
• Familiarity with SCADA, BMS, or EMS platforms.
• Knowledge of Industry 4.0 and IoT integration.
• Ability to interpret P&ID diagrams and control narratives.
