Lead Telecommunications & Low-Voltage Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Portland, Oregon 97201, United States; requires regular site visits for construction administration.

What you will do

• Own telecommunications and low-voltage design delivery from feasibility and concept development through drawings, specifications, and construction administration.
• Lead designs for structured cabling, wireless infrastructure, data center systems, AV integration, security, and related low-voltage infrastructure.
• Direct BIM and drafting resources to ensure engineering drawings accurately capture design intent.
• Manage multiple projects, including budgets, schedules, deliverables, risks, RFIs, submittals, and substitution requests.
• Coordinate with project managers, architects, clients, vendors, and external stakeholders, including pre-bid meetings and RFP reviews.
• Conduct site visits, verify installation compliance, review commissioning test results, and troubleshoot integration issues.

Requirements

• Technical or associate degree in a related field; a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a similar discipline is highly preferred.
• At least four years of hands-on experience designing or leading telecommunications structured cabling systems.
• Working knowledge of ANSI/TIA, BICSI, and NFPA 70 (NEC) standards.
• Familiarity with Navisworks for design review and clash coordination.
• Active RCDD credential or the ability to qualify for it within one year of employment.
• Experience creating project budgets, maintaining schedules, and responding to complex RFP/RFQ packages.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience installing and commissioning telecommunications systems.
• Experience with electronic security and integrated AV systems.
• Ability to interpret field test results and perform root-cause troubleshooting.
