What you will do

• Serve as a proactive advocate for company priorities by engaging with legislators and executive agencies.
• Develop and execute policy and appropriations strategies to address water supply challenges.
• Drive involvement in California state legislative sessions, budget cycles, and stakeholder forums.
• Prepare and deliver testimony, policy briefs, and presentations to decision-making bodies.
• Build and sustain productive relationships with legislators, regulatory agencies, and industry associations.
• Identify emerging opportunities for state-level funding and drive strategic engagement.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in California government relations, public policy, or legislative/executive roles.
• Proven track record of successfully shaping state legislative and budgetary outcomes.
• In-depth understanding of state policy frameworks related to water supply, environmental protection, and agriculture.
• Ability to travel approximately 50% or more for legislative sessions and site visits.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
