TL;DR

Legal Document Specialist (Legal): Creating, editing, and formatting complex legal documents with an accent on quality, accuracy, and time-sensitivity. Focus on managing Table of Authorities, Table of Contents, and complex document markups within MS Office.

Location: Must be based in Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote after 90 days probation)

Salary: $19.19 per hour (plus $3.00 shift differential)

What you will do

  • Create, edit, and format legal documents according to firm specifications using various software applications.
  • Convert and clean documents across different file formats and create charts, graphs, and spreadsheets.
  • Generate Tables of Authorities (TOA) and Tables of Contents (TOC).
  • Transcribe analog or digital dictation files and recover corrupted document files.
  • Provide telephone help desk support to troubleshoot application queries.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information while meeting strict project deadlines.

Requirements

  • Must be able to commute to Phoenix, AZ.
  • Ability to work the 3rd shift: Tuesday - Saturday, 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM.
  • High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of experience in legal word processing preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Minimum typing speed of 60 wpm with 95% accuracy.
  • Experience with automated cross-references, macros, and complex numbering schemes.

Nice to have

  • Transcription experience.
  • Knowledge of legal terminology and legal citations.
