What you will do

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations for nonprofit clients, including month-end close and reconciliations.
• Execute fund accounting tasks, tracking restricted and unrestricted funds and supporting grant and donor reporting.
• Prepare and review comprehensive financial reports for internal use and client stakeholders.
• Coordinate year-end processes and lead audit preparations.
• Implement process improvements and best practices across various client engagements.
• Review the work of junior staff and provide professional guidance and feedback.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3–6+ years of accounting experience with a strong focus on nonprofit or fund accounting.
• Proven experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Proficiency in accounting systems such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Blackbaud Financial Edge, or Raisers Edge.
• Must be based in the United States.

Nice to have

• Active or in-progress CPA license.
• Experience in public accounting or outsourced accounting services.
• Knowledge of nonprofit audits or Form 990 support.
• AICPA Not-for-Profit Certificate.
