Senior Environmental Health & Safety Specialist (EHS)

Location: Hybrid (3 days on-site) in Auburn Hills, MI, United States

What you will do

• Establish and maintain EHS programs to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations.
• Investigate safety incidents and near misses using root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
• Instruct employees on occupational health, injury prevention, and the proper handling of hazardous materials.
• Conduct inspections and tests to identify and control pollutants in air, soil, and water.
• Act as the primary representative for internal and external audits, as well as government agency inquiries.
• Partner with Facilities and Laboratory services to implement site-wide continuous improvement and 5S activities.

Requirements

• University Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety and Health, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, or Engineering.
• Related Master’s degree, CIH, PE license, or CSP certification.
• 4 or more years of directly related experience.
• Ability to travel up to 10-15% to other company sites for in-person audits and investigations.
• Physical ability to stand/walk extensively, lift up to 30lbs, and work in tight or variable temperature environments.
• Ability to wear a respirator and other required personal protective equipment (PPE).
