What you will do

• Develop platform feasibility, business case estimates, and manufacturing process templates for Body in White with Closures.
• Define and develop highly automated closures manufacturing processes and sequences of operations to meet throughput and dimensional requirements.
• Utilize GM's MECS estimating tool for system cost development.
• Oversee the design, construction, integration, and plant installation of Closure Assembly systems.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing Principles and test advanced processing technologies for the Factory of the Future.
• Provide technical support to global business regions, including South America and Asia, specializing in emerging market manufacturing methods.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field of study.
• 10+ years of experience as a Closures Manufacturing Engineer or in a related occupation.
• 10+ years of experience providing technical direction to outside vendor sources and managing automated body shop processes.
• 8+ years of experience in global closures processes, manufacturing engineering, and product architecture.
• 5+ years of experience in project management, new product launches, and Body shop Tooling Design analysis.
• Advanced skills in AutoCAD and BIW Closures Tool & System Cost Estimation.
