American commercial electric vehicle (EV) company developing a first-of-its-kind EV platform for medium-duty vehicles and hybrids.

What you will do

• Define and implement long-term process and equipment strategies for General Assembly lines, including AGVs, robotics, and torque control tooling.
• Manage the entire equipment lifecycle from concept, vendor selection, and design review to installation and ramp-up.
• Lead process flow planning, layout, and installation of new General Assembly lines within facilities.
• Act as the technical expert for automation, robotics, machine vision, and control systems to solve complex assembly challenges.
• Partner with equipment suppliers to negotiate specifications and ensure on-time delivery.
• Collaborate with design and product engineering teams to optimize vehicle designs for manufacturability and assembly (DFM/DFA).

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in advanced manufacturing engineering, with 8+ years focused on General Assembly equipment in automotive EV or high-volume industry.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering.
• Deep expertise in robotic applications (Kuka, Fanuc), conveyance systems, nut running, and sealing.
• Strong understanding of automation, machine vision (Cognex, Keyence), and control systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
• Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or AutoCAD.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.

Nice to have

• Experience working in a startup environment.

• Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification.
