TL;DR

Regional HR & People Operations Specialist (SaaS): Managing the employee lifecycle and operational HR functions for the NORAM region with an accent on compliance, leave administration, and HRIS management. Focus on streamlining onboarding/offboarding processes, ensuring legal compliance across US and Canadian jurisdictions, and partnering with HRBPs to execute regional people strategies.

Location: Remote (Must be based in the United States or Canada)

Salary: $65,000 – $80,000 USD

What you will do

  • Serve as the primary HR contact for team members and managers in the NORAM region regarding policies, PTO, and general operations.
  • Manage the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, promotions, internal transfers, and organizational updates.
  • Coordinate Leave of Absence (LOA) programs, including FMLA, ADA, and Canadian provincial labor standards.
  • Maintain data integrity within Workday and generate recurring and ad hoc people-metrics reports for leadership.
  • Partner with Payroll and Benefits teams to ensure accurate data processing and payroll readiness.
  • Ensure operational processes align with US federal/state laws, Canadian provincial regulations, and PIPEDA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in HR Operations, People Operations, or as an HR Generalist.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. employment laws and HR operational best practices.
  • Familiarity with Canadian employment standards and provincial labor regulations.
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms, with Workday strongly preferred.
  • Professional proficiency in English.

Nice to have

  • Experience working in global SaaS, technology, or hospitality tech companies.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification.
  • Experience supporting remote/distributed organizations in high-growth scaling environments.
