Focus on managing complex leave cases, overseeing immigration processes, and scaling compliant HR workflows for a distributed workforce.

Location: Remote (Must be based in the US or Canada)

What you will do

  • Own end-to-end administration of benefits and leave programs across the U.S. and Canada.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and provincial regulations including COBRA, ERISA, ESA, WSIB, and EI.
  • Manage complex and escalated leave, accommodation, and return-to-work cases.
  • Coordinate immigration processes for U.S. and Canada, including work permits and LMIA applications.
  • Oversee workers’ compensation programs, including claims management and vendor coordination.
  • Develop and scale policies, SOPs, and self-service tools to support a distributed workforce.

Requirements

  • Deep knowledge of U.S. and Canadian leave, benefits, and employment laws.
  • Proven experience leading high-risk, sensitive leave and accommodation cases.
  • Proficiency with HRIS tools (ADP, Workday) and leave management platforms (e.g., Unum).
  • Experience managing immigration processes and partnering with external legal counsel.
  • Must be based in the U.S. or Canada.
  • Strong empathetic communication and cross-functional partnership skills.
