AVP, AI Product Owner

Location: Hybrid role based in Warren, New Jersey, or New York, New York, United States

Salary: $152,000–$202,000 annually

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end lifecycle of AI products and use cases from ideation through implementation and scaling.
• Partner with Underwriting, Claims, and other business stakeholders to identify and prioritize high-impact AI opportunities.
• Translate business needs into product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process maps.
• Maintain product roadmaps, prioritize backlogs, and support sprint planning with data science, engineering, and delivery teams.
• Drive implementation, adoption, change management, stakeholder communication, and continuous product improvement.
• Support enterprise AI platforms such as EverAssist and monitor product performance through KPIs and user feedback.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Data Science, or a related field; an MBA is preferred.
• 6+ years of experience in Product Ownership, Business Analysis, or related roles.
• Strong insurance operations knowledge, particularly in Underwriting and Claims.
• Experience implementing AI/ML or advanced analytics use cases in a business environment.
• Strong business analysis, requirements gathering, process mapping, documentation, Agile, Scrum, and Kanban skills.
• Technical understanding of AI/ML concepts, data pipelines, APIs, and collaboration with data scientists and engineers; experience with JIRA, Confluence, Visio, or Lucidchart.

Nice to have

• Experience with enterprise AI platforms or copilots such as EverAssist.
• Knowledge of data governance, model risk management, and regulatory considerations in insurance.
• Experience leading digital transformation initiatives in the insurance industry.
