Designer I (Mechanical Engineering)

Designer I (Mechanical Engineering): Designing components, assemblies, and support structures for engine product lines with an accent on mechanical layouts and 3D modeling. Focus on ensuring form, fit, and function of interchangeable parts and implementing Engineering Change Orders.

Location: Beloit, Wisconsin, USA. Must be a US Citizen (no dual citizenship) due to NOFORN data access requirements.

What you will do

• Prepare mechanical layouts, assemblies, and detailed drawings as directed by engineers.
• Develop accurate 2D and 3D design models for FEA software and manufacturing process programming.
• Analyze form, fit, and function for the design of interchangeable parts.
• Provide material selections and develop Bill of Material (BOM) structures.
• Participate in the implementation of Engineering Change Orders (ECO).

Requirements

• Associate degree in Mechanical Design Engineering or 1-5 years of equivalent professional experience.
• Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD tools, preferably SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and PDM.
• Knowledge of ASME Y14.5M GD&T dimensioning and tolerances.
• Proof of US Citizenship and attestation of no dual citizenship to meet NOFORN requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work from marked prints and minimal verbal/written instructions.

Nice to have

• Experience with piping systems and heavy weldments.
• Knowledge of AWS drafting symbols.
• Experience with Oracle software.
