Salary: $225,000 - $275,000

What you will do

• Establish and drive engineering excellence by defining metrics and improving software development processes.
• Act as a translation layer between technical engineering reality and business context for stakeholders and executives.
• Directly manage and develop a team of approximately 10 engineers to build a high-performance culture.
• Own compliance and reliability, operating within SOC 2 Type 2 controls and overseeing evidence and audits.
• Partner with Product, CX, and GMT teams to translate company priorities into predictable, high-quality delivery.

Requirements

• 8+ years of engineering experience, including 4+ years managing engineers in a SaaS environment.
• Strong technical foundation with depth in backend and/or data engineering.
• Proven ability to build team culture and implement operational excellence rituals.
• Experience operating in compliance-bound environments such as SOC2.
• Must be authorized to work in the US (E-Verify participant).
• Strong communication skills for a highly async remote-first environment.

Nice to have

• Background in Insurtech or other highly regulated industries.
• Experience building or shipping AI-powered products.
• Familiarity with scaling engineering workflows using AI tooling.
• Location in New York City.
