What you will do

• Analyze cash and futures markets for wood and panel commodities to optimize costs and maximize margins.
• Negotiate with mills, brokers, and wholesalers to obtain competitive pricing.
• Maintain supplier relationships and manage purchase orders to replenish distribution center inventory.
• Advise supply chain personnel on market trends, pricing, and product availability.
• Process claims and complaints regarding defective merchandise.
• Provide training and guidance to junior buyers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of related experience in procurement or supply chain.
• Proficiency in ERP software (experience with JDA is a plus).
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills for market trend analysis.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Must be authorized to work in the US (eligible for 401k and US health insurance).
