Business Analyst (Fraud Analytics)

TL;DR

Business Analyst (Fraud Analytics): Driving initiatives to improve the safety of the pet care community by defining and measuring the success of the Fraud program with an accent on detection models and operational performance. Focus on translating ambiguous business problems into data products, conducting in-depth fraud trend analysis, and automating analytical workflows using AI tools.

Location: Hybrid: Must be based in the Greater Seattle Area or willing to relocate. Work from the Downtown Seattle Office two days per week (Mondays and Thursdays).

Salary: $108,694–$136,046

What you will do

• Partner with Fraud leadership to define the strategy for measuring program health and operational performance.
• Establish comprehensive metrics, reporting, and monitoring rhythms for fraud impact on the business.
• Develop and refine detection models and tooling to identify and mitigate emerging fraud attacks.
• Communicate analysis findings and crisp narratives to senior Operations leaders.
• Serve as a strategic advisor to business leaders, providing data-driven recommendations on investments and optimization strategies.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience working cross-functionally with complex datasets to support decision making.
• Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship.
• Strong proficiency with SQL and experience reviewing code produced by other analysts.
• Hands-on experience with data abstractions using DBT or Airflow and visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Mode).
• Ability to independently translate ambiguous stakeholder questions into clear, actionable analytical problems.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in a quantitative field or applied statistics experience.
• Ability to code in Python or R.
• Prior experience in advanced fraud analytics within the technology sector.
• Experience with the development and optimization of machine learning models.
• Hands-on experience with Zendesk data and A/B testing/experiment design.
