Principal Business Analyst, Fraud (Fintech)

Location: Remote, United States; ability to travel approximately 4–6 or more times per year for in-person collaboration.

Salary: $118,000–$135,000 annual full-time base salary, plus eligibility for annual incentive and equity programs.

What you will do

• Analyze application data to identify emerging fraud patterns and vulnerabilities.
• Design, build, and run A/B and Champion/Challenger tests for real-time fraud defenses.
• Translate test results into data-backed recommendations balancing risk and customer experience.
• Build and maintain dashboards tracking defense coverage, applicant friction, abandonment, and losses.
• Partner with Operations, Product, Data Science, and Engineering to improve fraud detection capabilities.
• Mentor less experienced analysts and help develop fraud analytics judgment.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in a highly analytical role, primarily working directly with data.
• Experience with credit cards or other consumer lending products.
• Hands-on experience designing and executing A/B or Champion/Challenger tests in an application or risk funnel.
• Ability to frame ambiguous questions, form hypotheses, analyze data, and defend conclusions with stakeholders.
• Strong familiarity with SQL, Python, or comparable data analysis tools.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.

• Direct experience in Fraud Strategy and Analytics.
• Expertise in SQL and Python.
• Experience scaling a business in a fast-paced startup environment.
