What you will do

• Develop catalogs of rooms, groupings, and massings as reusable components with defined constraints and configuration logic.
• Establish assembly rules to ensure that produced homes are structurally sound and aesthetically coherent.
• Translate deep residential design intuition into systematized and repeatable patterns.
• Partner with plan development leads to ensure designs are buildable, code-compliant, and market-ready.
• Contribute to standard details, design guidelines, and modeling best practices to support automation.
• Help define a new programming language for the creation of residential homes.

Requirements

• Experience in residential architecture with hands-on home design and construction knowledge.
• Systems design mindset focused on creating the rules governing design rather than just applying them.
• Enthusiasm for encoding design decisions into software and working at the intersection of design and technology.
• Experience with parametric design tools and computational approaches.
• Licensed architect credential.
• Must be based in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with catalog housing, plan libraries, or product-line residential design.
• Exposure to prefab, modular, or mass-customization housing approaches.
• Familiarity with BIM platforms and computational design tools like Grasshopper or Dynamo.
