TL;DR

Sales Director (AI Sales): Leading the go-to-market strategy and building a founding team of Account Executives to drive AI-native software sales with an accent on technical credibility and PLG-to-enterprise conversion. Focus on managing high-volume velocity tracks alongside strategic enterprise pursuits to capture the Bay Area AI market.

Location: Must be based in the San Francisco Bay Area and willing to be physically present in San Mateo and with customers across the Peninsula multiple days per week.

What you will do

  • Build, lead, and mentor a founding team of 6–8 Senior Account Executives.
  • Own full-funnel revenue performance, including pipeline generation, conversion, and forecast accuracy.
  • Personally manage a portfolio of strategic accounts to model effective selling motions.
  • Establish operating cadences for pipeline reviews, deal inspection, and account planning.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Developer Advocacy to translate field signals into roadmap priorities.
  • Represent the company at AI ecosystem events and customer roundtables in the Bay Area.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of B2B SaaS sales experience with 4+ years in frontline leadership.
  • Must be based in the San Francisco Bay Area with ability to work on-site.
  • Proven track record of selling technical products to engineering, DevOps, or security buyers.
  • Experience building or managing velocity/inside-sales tracks alongside strategic enterprise motions.
  • Technical fluency in Git, CI/CD, and code review workflows.
  • Must have valid work authorization in the US as visa sponsorship is not supported.

Nice to have

  • Experience selling into AI-native companies or digital-native unicorns.
  • Prior experience selling code quality, AppSec, or developer productivity tools.
  • Technical background such as a CS degree or prior engineering experience.
  • Experience as a first-hire or founding sales leader at a growth-stage company.
