EHS Specialist (Chemical Distribution)

What you will do

• Support the site health and safety strategy in line with UK legislation, including implementing safe systems of work, risk assessments, and method statements.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, conduct root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and maintain statutory records including RIDDOR reporting.
• Manage environmental compliance, permits, waste, emissions, audits, reporting, and improvement initiatives involving energy efficiency and sustainability.
• Conduct site inspections, compliance audits, and risk assessments while supporting internal and external audits.
• Deliver EHS training and promote safety culture through coaching, engagement, and behavioural safety initiatives.
• Maintain emergency response plans, support drills, and liaise with regulators, internal departments, contractors, and external partners.

Requirements

• NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent.
• IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management or equivalent.
• Good working knowledge of EHS management systems.
• Experience in chemical manufacturing or chemical distribution in an EHS role is preferred.
• Ability to support site operations and drive higher safety standards.
• Work onsite in Middlesbrough, United Kingdom.
