TL;DR
HSQE Advisor (Construction and Energy Infrastructure): Providing health, safety, quality and environmental advice across regional construction and energy projects with an accent on site audits, inspections, risk assessment and regulatory compliance. Focus on investigating incidents, stopping unsafe work, reviewing CDM and RAMS documentation, and driving corrective action and HSQE culture across project teams.

Location: Andover, United Kingdom; regional site-based role with regular onsite work across multiple projects

What you will do

  • Provide HSQE advice, inspections and guidance to site staff, project managers and operational teams across the region.
  • Complete at least two general site audits and three targeted inspections each week, record non-conformances and drive timely close-out.
  • Review risk assessments, method statements, RAMS and CDM documentation, formally recording feedback and acceptance decisions.
  • Investigate regional incidents, support joint investigations of serious events and stop unsafe work until a suitable safe solution is agreed and communicated.
  • Prepare weekly diary updates and monthly HSQE reports, and contribute to project, site and regional meetings.
  • Deliver toolbox talks and workforce engagement while promoting continuous improvement, lessons learned and a positive HSQE culture.

Requirements

  • NEBOSH Construction Level 3–6 or equivalent, IOSH membership and IEMA Practitioner membership or above.
  • Mental Health First Aider, First Aid training and a valid driving licence.
  • Experience with site inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations and CDM Regulations.
  • Understanding of energy-sector working methods and Principal Contractor responsibilities.
  • Strong written, numerical, communication and report-writing skills, with confidence using Microsoft 365 and HSQE systems.
  • Ability to manage an independent diary, prioritise workloads and provide practical HSQE advice across multiple sites.

Nice to have

  • CSCS, EUSR, Cat and Genny training or experience with temporary works coordination and supervision.
  • Energy-specific or substation experience.
  • Knowledge of environmental and sustainability management systems, lifting operations, street works and infrastructure services.
