Assistant HSE Advisor

Location: Birmingham; work at project offices and on site

hirify.global provides infrastructure services as part of the Taylor Woodrow / hirify.global joint venture for the Washwood Heath Depot HS2 project.

What you will do

• Support the implementation, maintenance, and review of HSE policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
• Conduct site inspections and audits to identify hazards and non-compliance.
• Support investigations of incidents, accidents, and near misses, including root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Assist with HSE training and induction programs for employees and contractors.
• Maintain HSE records and documentation, participate in risk assessments, and support the HSE Manager/Advisor.
• Promote a positive safety culture and stay current with HSE legislation, standards, and best practices.

Requirements

• NEBOSH General Certificate or an equivalent recognized HSE qualification.
• 1–2 years of experience in an HSE role, preferably in infrastructure, construction, or heavy industry.
• Strong understanding of HSE principles, legislation, and management systems.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; a valid driver’s license may be required.
