What you will do

• Oversee and own global indirect tax processes and compliance, primarily VAT and GST.
• Manage monthly and quarterly VAT/GST reporting, returns, and audit files for EMEA and APAC.
• Reconcile VAT accounts and execute critical compliance controls.
• Provide technical advice on VAT/GST legislation and support the global indirect tax strategy.
• Coordinate and support indirect tax audit responses.
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities within tax systems.

Requirements

• Must be based in Barcelona, Spain.
• 3+ years of global indirect tax experience (VAT and GST).
• Fluent understanding of indirect tax compliance and related accounting processes.
• Experience managing indirect tax audit processes in a multinational environment.
• Fluency in English is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Master's in Taxation preferred.

Nice to have

• Big Four experience.
• Experience with tax technology and ERP systems such as Avalara or NetSuite.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
