UX Design Principal (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid - Must be based in Manchester, UK (3 days in office, 2 days remote)

What you will do

• Partner with the UX Design Manager to define and drive UX strategy across products and customer journeys.
• Lead the design of complex, strategically important initiatives from discovery through to delivery and optimisation.
• Create journey maps, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.
• Champion UX best practices, accessibility, and inclusive design throughout the product lifecycle.
• Support the adoption and evolution of the Design System to ensure consistency and scalability.
• Mentor and coach the UX team, acting as a role model to grow overall design capability.

Requirements

• Significant experience in a Principal, Lead, or Staff UX design role.
• Proven track record of designing complex digital products and platforms.
• Expertise in interaction design, information architecture, and complex problem solving.
• Strong understanding of WCAG standards and inclusive design.
• Experience working with and championing Design Systems.
• Must be able to work in a hybrid model in Manchester, England.

Nice to have

• Experience within regulated industries, particularly financial services.
• History of leading transformation programmes or strategic design initiatives.
• Experience using AI-powered tools to support research, ideation, and design delivery.
