Electrical Engineer (Solar Engineering)

What you will do

• Perform detailed design of Photovoltaic (PV) Electrical Power Systems, including string sizing, array layouts, and grounding.
• Conduct power system studies for utility-scale PV plants, covering short circuit, load flow, relay coordination, and arc flash.
• Prepare technical documentation, cost estimates, budget reports, and equipment specifications.
• Review equipment data sheets and manuals for design approval and provide field troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with designers and drafters to ensure quality and accuracy of deliverables.
• Maintain professional knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and construction practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution.
• 3–6+ years of relevant engineering or field experience.
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• FE or PE licensure is considered a plus.

Nice to have

• Proficiency with power system software such as EasyPower, ETAP, SKM, or CYMCAP.
• Experience with PVsyst and other PV-specific software packages.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word.
