Location: Must reside in the D.C. Metropolitan Area (Hybrid: required to be in office at least 10 days a year)

Salary: $150,000 - $165,000 USD

What you will do

• Serve as a key legal advisor on federal and state nohirify.globalofit law and compliance.
• Monitor IRS regulations and provide counsel on implications for various business transactions.
• Structure, draft, and negotiate complex transactional contracts, grant agreements, and donor gift agreements.
• Represent the organization in probate matters and trust/fiduciary litigation.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with FCC, FTC, IRS, and other relevant regulatory bodies.
• Provide corporate governance support for the Board of Directors and Board of Trustees.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Bar membership in good standing in the District of Columbia (or eligibility to waive in).
• 5+ years of professional experience representing nohirify.globalofit, tax-exempt, or complex membership organizations.
• Fluency in state and federal tax laws, including regulations for private foundations and 501(c)(4) organizations.
• Experience practicing before the IRS, including audits and executing Forms 990 and 1023.
• Working knowledge of FCC, FTC, and FEC regulatory environments.

Nice to have

• Experience practicing within the IRS Office of Chief Counsel (TE/GE).
• Direct experience drafting and administering complex trusts and estates with charitable beneficiaries.
• Experience advising multi-tiered, federated membership associations or national public media entities.
