Product Quality Engineer (Hardware)

Location: Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico (On-site, includes ~50% travel during peak NPI periods)

What you will do

• Own the quality workstream for hardware NPI from prototype builds through PVT and mass production readiness.
• Develop Quality Control Plans (QCP), inspection criteria, and acceptance standards for each development phase.
• Establish quality processes across the manufacturing supply chain, including first article inspections and final quality control.
• Define and execute qualification test plans in partnership with Product Design and Systems Engineering.
• Lead DFM reviews and DFMEA/PFMEA risk analysis to enforce overall quality improvement.
• Act as the on-site quality lead at Contract Manufacturers, driving real-time defect triage and issue escalation.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in Product, Supplier, NPI, or Manufacturing Quality Engineering.
• Engineering degree (MS or BS) in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or a closely related technical discipline.
• Demonstrated knowledge of reliability, supplier management, and statistical analysis (SPC, Cpk/Ppk).
• Hands-on experience across all NPI build phases: proto, EVT, DVT, and PVT.
• Ability to use Minitab or equivalent analysis software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting status and risks to leadership.

Nice to have

• Experience in industries serving consumer electronics or similar Contract Manufacturing roles.
