Supplier Development Engineer

Location: Piedras Negras T&L, Mexico

What you will do

• Establish and support a capable supplier base aligned with business-unit requirements.
• Lead supplier and material qualification activities, including customer PPAP support.
• Identify underperforming suppliers and implement recovery plans to improve performance.
• Track supplier development metrics such as NPD incident rate, critical-risk suppliers, audits, and category DPPM.
• Drive improvement actions with suppliers and internal cross-functional teams.
• Partner with plant supplier quality engineering teams to ensure consistent material quality for operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or university degree in Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience in supplier quality or supplier development.
• Experience with ISO and IATF standards and the five core tools: FMEA, APQP, PPAP, SPC, and MSA.
• Knowledge of VDA 6.3 auditing, analytical and problem-solving skills, and strong follow-up and communication abilities.
• Advanced MS Office skills and basic SAP knowledge.
• Proficient English at a minimum of 85% in reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
