TL;DR

Director of Institutional Relations (Web3): Managing and growing institutional partners for a DeFi infrastructure firm with an accent on capital allocation, retention, and strategic counterparty management. Focus on translating market insights into product improvements and leading cross-functional initiatives to scale DeFi verticals.

Location: Remote (US/EU)

Salary: $150k - $200k Base

A digital asset firm building institutional infrastructure across DeFi with partnerships involving PayPal, Paxos, and leading L1 foundations.

What you will do

  • Take ownership of institutional partners, including depositors and borrowers, to encourage retention and continued capital allocation.
  • Collaborate with business development to uncover expansion opportunities and referrals within your professional network.
  • Act as a public-facing representative at industry events and within online crypto communities.
  • Partner with the CEO and product teams to turn client feedback into strategic product initiatives.
  • Lead cross-functional projects across product, protocol, and operations teams to ensure execution.
  • Create scalable internal systems for tracking account performance, forecasting renewals, and partner reporting.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of hands-on DeFi experience with knowledge of vaults, lending protocols, and on-chain yield strategies.
  • Proven experience managing institutional client relationships in crypto, fintech, or financial services.
  • Existing network across the crypto ecosystem (exchanges, DAOs, family offices, or investment firms).
  • Solid project management abilities in fast-moving environments.
  • Must be based in the US or EU.

Nice to have

  • Experience working at a DeFi lending platform, yield protocol, or vault aggregator.
  • Previous leadership or senior IC experience in crypto or fintech startups.
  • Deep technical understanding of DeFi protocols and associated risks.
