TL;DR

Design Release Engineer (Automotive): Leading the design and integration of battery thermal protection components with an accent on robust product development and regulatory compliance. Location: Hybrid (Warren, Michigan). Must be able to report to the local office.

What you will do

  • Lead the design and integration of battery thermal protection components using advanced engineering tools.
  • Manage program execution, including milestones, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Conduct technical design reviews and oversee drawing validation activities.
  • Develop and review DFMEAs and DRBFMs for all components and modifications.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure quality, cost, and design feasibility.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering colleagues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2 years of experience as a Design Release Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, or in Mechanical Product Development.
  • Proficiency in CAD and CAE tools for design and analysis.
  • Experience in project management to meet customer deliverables across multiple projects.
  • Strong technical writing skills for detailed engineering evaluation reports.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and generate engineering drawings and specifications.
