Описание вакансии
TL;DR
ODD & Behavioral Competency Analyst (Autonomous Driving): Defining and analyzing Operational Design Domains and behavioral competencies to optimize data acquisition for autonomous driving models with an accent on MTBF and generalization across geographies. Focus on developing ODD permutation frameworks, analyzing model KPI patterns, and collaborating cross-functionally to drive data strategies.
Location: Hybrid in Sunnyvale, California, USA
Company
is a leading developer of Embodied AI technology, creating mapless and hardware-agnostic AI products to accelerate the transition to automated driving for automakers.
What you will do
- Analyze and define Operational Design Domains (ODDs) for target markets, including infrastructure, weather, road types, and local driving behaviors.
- Build and maintain a taxonomy of behavioral competencies (e.g., merging, yielding, unprotected turns) and quantify their complexity based on local data.
- Develop a framework to prioritize ODD permutations and behavioral competencies to optimize data collection and scaling efficiency.
- Analyze current model KPI patterns and driving behaviors to identify edge case risks and propose behavioral improvements.
- Collaborate with data engineering, safety, simulation, and product teams to translate ODD insights into actionable data strategies.
- Use statistical models to identify data gaps and provide guidance on reaching MTBF targets in each ODD segment.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in systems engineering, automotive data analysis, data science, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, GIS, and Jupyter, with experience accessing large data pools via frameworks like DataBricks.
- Experience analyzing or defining ODDs in the context of AV/ADAS technologies.
- Familiarity with traffic regulations and human driving behaviors across multiple geographies.
- Ability to translate domain analysis into technical and product requirements.
- Must be based in or able to work from the Sunnyvale, California office under a hybrid policy.
Nice to have
- MS or PhD in Physics, Statistics, or Mathematics specializing in traffic system modeling, autonomous driving deployment, or urban mobility analysis.
Culture & Benefits
- Hybrid working policy combining in-office collaboration with work-from-home flexibility.
- Core working hours allowing employees to determine the schedule that works best for them and their team.
- Inclusive and diverse work environment that values new perspectives and mutual support.
