What you will do

• Develop evaluation frameworks for autonomous vehicle performance, large-scale ML models, and simulation quality.
• Create new metrics and investigate anomalies using data from simulation and on-road driving.
• Innovate novel statistical methods to handle rare events and the integration of synthetic data.
• Frame ambiguous problems, scope technical priorities, and communicate data-driven findings to senior stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering partners to facilitate deployment readiness decisions for the hirify.global Driver.
• Mentor other data scientists and provide constructive technical feedback across the organization.

Requirements

• Degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, or Physics.
• 5+ years of industry experience solving data science problems, or a PhD in a quantitative field with 3+ years of experience.
• Expertise in advanced statistical methods in an applied setting and familiarity with ML systems.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and R data analysis libraries.
• Authorized to work in the US and based in Mountain View or San Francisco.

Nice to have

• PhD in a quantitative field.
• Experience in Autonomous Driving or Ride Hailing domains.
• Knowledge of Deep Learning, Diffusion models, Traffic Modeling, or Safety Evaluation.
• Proven track record of independently driving data science projects to deliver business value.
