What you will do

• Prepare substantive legal documents such as motions, writs of execution, and garnishments for US government debt collection.
• Conduct interviews with debtors, employers, and agency officials to determine the effectiveness of legal actions.
• Analyze credit information and public records to recommend appropriate legal actions to Assistant U.S. Attorneys.
• Research and summarize legal precedents and process debt collection claims referred by client agencies.
• Track case progress and ensure all legal pleadings and documentation are submitted within deadlines.

Requirements

• Two-year paralegal degree or a four-year degree with an additional paralegal certificate.
• Valid United States driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass a security clearance background check.
• Experience with tracing assets, seizing assets, and enforcing judgment liens.
• Proficiency in word processing applications.
