What you will do

• Draft and prosecute provisional, utility, and design patent applications.
• Respond to USPTO office actions and prepare persuasive arguments and amendments.
• Conduct patent searches, patentability assessments, and provide strategic risk analyses.
• Counsel SMB and startup founders on patent protection strategies.
• Leverage AI-enabled tools to improve operational efficiency, consistency, and customer experience.
• Mentor patent agents and develop best practices, templates, and quality assurance processes.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States.
• Minimum of 5 years of U.S. patent prosecution experience.
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active license in good standing before the USPTO.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, biotechnology, chemistry, or another scientific/technical discipline.
• Experience working with startups, entrepreneurs, and small businesses.
• Strong communication skills to explain complex legal concepts to non-attorney clients.
