What you will do

• Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements including SaaS, subscription, and strategic partnership contracts.
• Advise on AI governance, including internal AI tool deployment, acceptable use policies, and compliance with evolving AI regulations.
• Counsel business teams on intellectual property, open-source software licensing, data privacy (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA), and export controls.
• Partner with engineering and security teams on AI-assisted development policies and code attribution.
• Collaborate with Sales and Finance to accelerate deal velocity while managing commercial risk.
• Support incident response, regulatory inquiries, and customer audits.

Requirements

• 8+ years of legal experience in an in-house role, preferably within enterprise or infrastructure software.
• J.D. degree and active license in California are required.
• Strong working knowledge of open-source licensing models and their commercial implications.
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and willingness to develop deep expertise in AI-related legal risks.
• Ability to translate complex legal concepts for both technical and non-technical business stakeholders.
• Availability for early morning and late-evening calls to support international teams across EMEA and APAC.
