What you will do
- Source and evaluate new life sciences opportunities, screening for scientific differentiation and commercial fit with the company platform.
- Track therapeutic area trends, modality breakthroughs, and deal activity to generate actionable strategic views.
- Match therapeutic modalities to disease areas using biological rationale and competitive landscape analysis.
- Build and own quantitative models for market sizing, patient populations, and deal economics to inform investment decisions.
- Develop target product profiles and early commercial theses for candidate assets in collaboration with Science and Product teams.
- Shape deal structures and partnership constructs to translate commercial logic into viable terms.
Requirements
- 6-8+ years of experience in new product planning, commercial assessment, or business development within pharma, biotech, or life sciences VC.
- Strong scientific literacy in therapeutics, modalities, and disease biology.
- Demonstrated ability to align therapeutic modalities with disease areas based on biological fit and unmet need.
- Hands-on experience building market sizing, forecasting, and deal economic models from scratch.
- Active fluency in industry trends, pipeline movements, and deal activity across the pharma and biotech sectors.
- Must be based in Cambridge, MA, USA.
Nice to have
- Advanced degree (PhD, MS) in life sciences or an MBA with a deep focus on life sciences.
- Established network of biotech operators, VCs, KOLs, and pharma BD leaders.
- Experience integrating AI tools into market research and competitor tracking workflows.
- Prior experience structuring partnership models, joint ventures, or NewCo formations.
