What you will do

• Own the technical delivery of mission-critical, event-based payment systems.
• Define standards for high-availability, resilient deployments, and metric-driven reliability (SLOs).
• Navigate architectural paths from POC to production, balancing business value with long-term system health.
• Shape engineering and product strategy as a co-author of technical roadmaps.
• Mentor and coach engineers to foster a culture of continuous learning and high performance.
• Drive engineering velocity by building shared frameworks and automated guardrails.

Requirements

• Must be located in Canada or the US and able to work within EST/EDT hours.
• Extensive experience at a staff engineer level with large-scale systems and incident management.
• Deep proficiency in at least one relevant tech stack and complex full-stack architecture.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted coding and deployment strategies.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical tradeoffs for stakeholders.
• Proven track record of operational excellence and building resilient, auditable systems.
