What you will do

• Lead technical design and architecture for the Commerce Platform, including product catalog, promotion engine, and subscription services.
• Partner with product and cross-functional engineering teams to define and execute the technical roadmap.
• Drive end-to-end delivery of complex, ambiguous projects from scoping through implementation and iteration.
• Mentor and coach engineers through design and code reviews to foster a culture of craftsmanship.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate engineering velocity and establish team-wide best practices.
• Own platform observability and reliability by defining SLOs and leading incident response.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in a tech lead or staff role.
• Mastery of at least one programming language (e.g., Ruby, Java, Python, Go).
• Deep experience building large-scale backend platform systems in commerce, billing, or subscription domains.
• Strong command of distributed systems, API design, and service reliability practices.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with AI tools and a growth mindset toward AI-augmented workflows.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders without authority.
